Frequently asked questions
Is quality lost when rotating?
No, rotating in multiples of 90° happens without any quality loss. The pixels are simply rearranged, no recompression takes place.
Why is my photo sideways even though I held the camera straight?
Cameras sometimes store orientation information as an EXIF tag instead of actually rotating the pixels. Some apps do not read that tag correctly. Rotating with this tool physically adjusts the pixels so the photo looks correct everywhere.
Can I also flip the image?
Yes, via the flip option you can mirror horizontally (left-right) or vertically (top-bottom). Handy for selfies that were saved mirrored.
What is the difference between 90° and 270°?
One rotates clockwise, the other counterclockwise. Both are useful; 90° is the most common choice to straighten a landscape-oriented image.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your own browser. Your image never leaves your device and is not stored anywhere.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free, without watermark or account. The site is paid for by ads.

Why in the browser?
PixRust runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API and WebAssembly. Your image is never sent to a server — all processing happens locally on your device. This means your photos remain private by design, whether they are personal snapshots or confidential documents. There is no account required, no file size limit, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
